The Messenger

To the plains Indians the crow was thought to have the ability to communicate messages from the spirit beings to the people. “The Messenger” is a surrealistic interpretation of the source of these messenger birds. The headdress of the mystical being is composed from the stuffed bodies of crows; some of the crows are regaining life and straining to be released to deliver their messages to the people.
