Parade of Honor by Charles Peterson
Collectors Edition 2600
25.5 x 18
In the Charles Peterson “Memories Collection” many of the people are based on various personalities and in some cases, likenesses of his family members. Some of the locations and settings are memories from his hometown and family homes.
In “Parade of Honor” from a memory of marching as a boy Scout which included six veterans of the Civil War, Charles invented an appropriate monument for this small-town park to memorialize those remaining few veterans. You’ll see his father (the somber Sergeant of Engineers) who would never have chosen to march in a parade after returning from France. Marching proudly beside dad is his uncle Lester from World War II (the enthusiastic Navy Chief who loved his military connection). Other friends include John Richard representing Vietnam veterans.
